San Diego County Water Authority Organizational Alignment and Project ReAlignment, San Diego, CA, for SDCWA (through The Centre for Organizational Effectiveness)

After successfully facilitating a resolution of a $4 million dispute regarding installation of a hydro-electric plant in one of SDCWA’s large pipes. TRG was asked to design a “IPD and Lean Inspired” training and teambuilding program for the Water Authority to restructure project teams on six large Water Authority projects with a capital expenditure of over $700 Million. Since 2006, we have trained six project teams, facilitated working sessions and quarterly follow-up sessions dealing with Focus/Forecast, Opportunities and Risk Assessment and Mitigation, and Systems Analysis and we perform periodic team trust measurements. Executives at the Water Authority have said we have helped to “change the culture” at the Water Authority. These projects included: Rancho Penasquitos Pressure Control Hydroelectric Project; Lake Hodges Pump Station; Mission Trails Tunnel & Water Tank; San Vicente Interconnect Pipeline; San Vicente Pump Station; and San Vicente Pumping Facility.
Work Sessions included:

  • Lean Facilitation and Training
  • Lean Partnering
  • Departmental coordination and Project First implementation
  • Forming, managing and facilitating cross-organizational Core Teams
